With the ever increasing cost of operations and maintenance within industrial industries, there has been a strategy shift to increase capability of remote monitoring to enable the ability to turn complex data into actionable information on the Web for data analysts. The ESRG team works on achieving this goal by enhancing the tools that subject matter experts use on a daily basis.  ESRG supports the remote monitoring of U.S. Navy ships, Rail Trains, General Aviation Aircraft, and is expanding into similar markets.  As ESRG moves forward in new markets, and continues to serve existing customers, the goal is to continuously improve end user experience of these applications.
                           
ESRG is looking for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a small company environment. The candidate should be familiar with the software development life cycle and understand the applicability of Usability and Design in this process. The contributions of your efforts will affect the front end experience of thousands of end users in a very demanding field.

 

Senior Software Developer

Job Requirements

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Apply strong Java EE development skills to analysis, design and development of Java centered custom applications
  • Participate in requirement gathering and be involved in research and analysis
  • Participate in the full project life cycle
  • Follow through the projects to implementation, installation and support
  • Develop enhancements to existing web-based applications to expand capabilities
  • Provide technical support for existing applications and processes
  • Test and document changes as per the requirements
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of software products to customers
  • Work in conjunction with team but able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Communicate with other teams and customers to fill in the blanks

Key Requirements include:

  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology
  • 6+ years in application development using Java EE technologies
  • Strong experience with building and maintaining websites
  • Strong Relational database experience, Oracle preferred
  • Experience in functional analysis and documenting
  • Experience in web services, ESB, and AJAX
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Any experience in the condition based maintenance would be a definite plus

Position is based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. No relocation expenses will be paid.
