With the ever increasing cost of operations and maintenance within industrial industries, there has been a strategy shift to increase capability of remote monitoring to enable the ability to turn complex data into actionable information on the Web for data analysts. The ESRG team works on achieving this goal by enhancing the tools that subject matter experts use on a daily basis.  ESRG supports the remote monitoring of U.S. Navy ships, Rail Trains, General Aviation Aircraft, and is expanding into similar markets.  As ESRG moves forward in new markets, and continues to serve existing customers, the goal is to continuously improve end user experience of these applications.

The candidate should be familiar with the software development life cycle and understand the applicability of Usability and Design in this process. Software Quality Assurance Lead

Career Level: Mid Career

Job Requirements

The Software Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing software quality assurance as well as execute test when needed. As the Quality Assurance Lead, be responsible for ensuring product quality is to industry leading standards.

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Manage and track defect metrics and provide regular reports to management
  • Lead the development of and manage software testing processes
  • Act as a technical resource to testing resources and the content development team
  • Supervise and perform, as needed, the following responsibilities:
    • Regression testing, defect validation, and defect status update in defect tracking system
    • Follow advanced software test standards and methods and conduct complex software tests; additionally contribute to establishing test standards
    • Launch new products and follow through to completion

Key Requirements include:

  • 3-5 years previous experience as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer working with development teams
  • Experience testing web-based enterprise and distributed applications
  • Understanding of Object Oriented software methodologies
  • Ability to comprehend and generate UML documentation
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities working as part of a team
  • Willingness and ability to create and adapt to new technologies
  • Ability to launch new products and follow through to completion
  • Desire to solve real problems for real customers
  • Proficiency in Windows, Linux and Mac environments desired but will consider Windows only

Position is based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. No relocation expenses will be paid.
